Full list of coronavirus confirmed cases in Wales – The epidemic can no longer be contained and cases are being confirmed daily

The coronavirus pandemic has been declared the “worst public health crisis for a generation” by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

He said families will continue to “lose loved ones before their time” as the outbreak worsens.

Six new incidents of Coronavirus / Covid-19 have been confirmed in Wales – including one in Wrexham – bring the total of positive cases to 25.

As of 9am on Thursday, a total of 29,764 people had been tested for coronavirus in the UK

Of that, 590 tested positive and 10 patients who tested positive for Coronavirus / Covid-19 have died.

Two other British nationals have also died overseas after contracting Covid-19 – one in Bali and another in Japan.

All confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wales

South Wales = 24

Neath Port Talbot: Eight people have coronavirus in the area. One of the cases in Neath Port Talbot has been linked to seven other positive cases in Wales.

Wales Chief Medical Officer Dr Frank Atherton said: “The identification of the seven individuals linked to the Neath Port Talbot resident case shows that the contact tracing and community testing being carried out by Public Health Wales is working as it should.”

Cardiff: Three cases have been confirmed in Cardiff.

One of the Cardiff cases was originally believed to be a Sky call centre worker. The call centre was evacuated and closed for a deep cleaning on Tuesday, before PHW confirmed the test had come back negative.

Swansea: There are three cases of Covid-19 in the Swansea area. One of the first cases in Wales was confirmed in Swanea and that patient had recently returned from northern Italy.

Pembrokeshire: The two Pembrokeshire cases are patients who are members of the same household.

They were confirmed positive after returning from northern Italy and had been self-isolating since their return.

Carmarthenshire: Two Carmarthenshire patients recently returned from northern Italy together.

Powys: Both cases confirmed in Powys are in people who have recently returned from northern Italy.

Newport: One person in Newport has tested positive. It has been confirmed they are a worker at the Office for National Statistics.

Caerphilly: One Caerphilly resident has tested positive but has no history of travel to a country where Covid-19 is circulating, so is likely to be the first incidence of “community spread” of the virus in Wales.

Monmouthshire: One patient has been diagnosed with coronavirus and has travelled abroad.

Blaenau Gwent: One person has tested positive. In this case has no history of travel to a country where the virus is circulating, and is not known to have had contact with another confirmed case.

North Wales = 3

Wrexham: One person has tested positive for Covid-19 in the Wrexham area. The patient has no history of travel to a country where the virus is circulating, and are not known to have had contact with another confirmed case.

Anglesey: One person has tested positive for coronavirus in Anglesey. No further details were given about how they may have developed the virus.

Flintshire: A new case has been confirmed in Flintshire. Again, no further details were given about how they may have developed the virus.
