Wilder vs Fury 2 PPV buys estimated between 800-850k in North America, eclipsing Lewis vs Tyson in 2002 but falling short of Bob Arum’s hopes

Wilder vs Fury 2 PPV buys estimated between 800-850k in North America, eclipsing Lewis vs Tyson in 2002 but falling short of Bob Arum’s hopes

Tyson Fury’s victory over Deontay Wilder on Saturday night was watched by an audience of between 800,000-850,000 paying customers in North America, according to reports.

If these figures prove to be accurate, the main event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena would have generated between $64m-$68million just through American PPV alone.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will get handsomely paid for their efforts on Saturday night

The ‘Gypsy King’ officially reclaimed his throne in Las Vegas by toppling long-standing WBC champion Wilder via seventh-round stoppage.

Despite hopes from Top Rank supremo Bob Arum, who said he would be ‘disappointed’ if PPV buys in the US was less than two million, it appears as though the official number will fall just short of one million.

According to The Athletic (as verified by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix) the official figures will land in the region of 800,000-850,000 buys.

Privately, the senior figures of ESPN and Fox Sports hoped to achieve around 1 to 1.1 million PPV buys to just break even.

The Gypsy King dropped Wilder

However, they can take some solace in the fact the ESPN+ and Fox Sports apps over performed, while traditional cable did not.

The PPV figure was $79.99 in America, meaning 800k buys would equal roughly $64m. And if it is closer to the 850k mark, this equals around $68m.

Both fighters were reportedly set to pocket $25m each from the fight, regardless of PPV figures and would then get a percentage of the total accrued later on.

Man Utd ‘to rebuild’ as Champions League absence proves costly…

Man Utd ‘rebuild’ as Champions League absence proves costly | Nasdaq

Feb 25 (Reuters)  Manchester United MANU.N are in “rebuild” mode as the English soccer club chases a return to the European Champions League, Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward said after financial results were dented by the team’s absence from this season’s tournament.

Woodward has been backing United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to forge a team that mixes top talent from around the world with young players from its academy.

“We are pushing for a strong finish in the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup as we enter the final third of the season,” Woodward said in a statement.

“The foundation for delivering the long-term success that we are all working towards is in place as we implement our plan and our footballing vision with Ole.”

Liverpool announce £533m turnover and £42m profit last year – despite spending a record £223m on players

Liverpool announce £533m turnover and £42m profit last year – despite spending a record £223m on players

Liverpool have announced a pre-tax profit of £42million last year, despite a record £223m investment on players.

The Reds also achieved a turnover of £533m for the financial year of 2018/19, which did not take into account their Champions League win over Tottenham Hotspur in June.

Liverpool are about to become a financial powerhouse in world football once again

While the figure of £42m is well below the record £125m profit for the year ending May 2018, the rewards are being felt on the pitch with the club four victories away from winning their first league title in 30 years.

Figures released on Thursday for the financial year to May 31, 2019 incorporate the purchases of Alisson Becker (£65m), Naby Keita (£52.75m), Fabinho (£43.7m) and Xherdan Shaqiri (£13m).

It also includes the increased costs of new contracts for 11 players, including captain Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold – who have all played a key role in helping Jurgen Klopp’s champions-elect establish a 22-point lead at the top of the table.

Some of that cost was offset by sales including Danny Ward (£12.5m), Danny Ings (£20m) and Dominic Solanke (£19m).

Dominic Solanke joined Bournemouth in January 2019 for £19m.

Income was also boosted by Champions League success, although as victory in the final in Madrid came in June the prize money from winning a sixth European Cup will be counted in the current financial year.

“This continued strengthening of the underlying financial sustainability of the club is enabling us to make significant investments both in player recruitment and infrastructure,” said chief operating officer Andy Hughes.

“Being able to reinvest over £220m on players during this financial period is a result of a successful business strategy, particularly the significant uplift in commercial revenues.

“The cost of football, however, does continue to rise in transfers and associated fees but what’s critical for us is the consistency of our financial position, enabling us to live within our means and continue to run a sustainable football club.”

The Reds lifted the European Cup for a sixth time last June

Turnover increased during the period by £78m to £533m with media revenue increasing by £41m to £261m, commercial revenue increasing by £34m to £188m and match revenue increasing by £3.5m to £84m.

The rise is a result of a new Champions League broadcasting deal which began during this period, finishing a close second to Manchester City in the Premier League and higher partnership and merchandising value, with Liverpool signing their first training kit sponsorship deal with AXA.

“What we’re seeing is sustained growth across all areas of the club which is aligned to the recent performance on the pitch,” added Hughes.

“Since this reporting period we have continued to reinvest in the club’s infrastructure, and we look forward to the opening of our new (£50m) training base at Kirkby ahead of the new season which will provide first-class facilities for our players and staff.

“We have also just completed a second-phase consultation on a proposed expansion of the Anfield Road stand which could see an increase in the stadium’s capacity.

“These financial results and this sustained period of solid growth is testament to our ownership, Fenway Sport Group, who continue to support the club’s ambitions and continue to reinvest revenues both in strengthening the playing squad and the club’s infrastructure to build for the future.”

Premier League launch Hall of Fame to recognise legends of the league who have shown ‘exceptional skill and talent’

Premier League launch Hall of Fame to recognise legends of the league who have shown ‘exceptional skill and talent’

The Premier League has revealed plans to launch an official Hall of Fame, with the first two players to be inducted next month.

The Hall of Fame aims to recognise and celebrate the ‘exceptional’ skill and talent of those who have graced the Premier League since its inception in 1992.

The Premier League began in 1992, becoming a global phenomenon

A shortlist of further nominees will be announced the same time the two initial players are inducted, with fans invited to help select the next group of former stars to join the 2020 class.

The only stipulations for inclusion are candidates must have retired and only a player’s Premier League career is considered.

“Since 1992, the Premier League has been home to world-class players who have defined generations and provided us with compelling football season after season,” said Premier League chief executive Richard Masters.

“A place in the Premier League Hall of Fame is reserved for the very best. It will be an occasion for our fans around the world to look back over the years and help us celebrate some truly exceptional playing careers.”

There are no hints regarding who the first two inductees will be, though Alan Shearer, the Newcastle legend, is one of the favourites to enter the Hall of Fame next month.

Alan Shearer is surely a candidate to be the first ever Premier League Hall of Fame inductee

Shearer retired in 2006 and remains the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer, having netted 260 goals for Southampton, Blackburn and the Magpies

Other contenders to be initially inducted are considered to include the likes of Thierry Henry, the ex-Arsenal forward, as well as former Manchester United duo Roy Keane and Eric Cantona.

Each inductee will receive a personalised medallion, engraved with the year of their induction.

Alexandre Lacazette: the forward will not push to leave if Arsenal fails to reach the Champions League

Alexandre Lacazette: the forward will not push to leave if Arsenal fails to reach the Champions League

Alexandre Lacazette has scored 33 Premier League goals in 86 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Lyon in 2017

Alexandre Lacazette will not push to leave Arsenal if they do not qualify for the next Champions League season.

When asked if his contract had a safeguard clause for such a scenario, the France striker said he didn’t know.

“I have a contract with the club, so I don’t make sense to leave,” he said. “Everyone is happy with me at the club.”

Lacazette, 28, joined Lyon’s Arsenal in 2017 and has never played in the Champions League for the Gunners.

Arsenal are ninth in the Premier League, seven points behind Chelsea in fourth.

They could also qualify for the next Champions League if they win the Europa League, and take the lead 1-0 in Thursday night’s home game with Olympiakos at the Emirates Stadium thanks to the Lacazette winner in Greece.

Lacazette has only scored twice in ten appearances with new manager Mikel Arteta and has been a substitute in the last two league games.

“Many people can talk,” said Lacazette, whose current contract expires in 2022. “There’s always something to say, so I don’t really think about it.

“If the manager, the coach, my teammates are happy with me, that’s the most important thing.”

Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury: We will make fight happen, says Frank Warren

Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury: We will make fight happen, says Frank Warren –

Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says if fans want to see a unification fight with Anthony Joshua “we will make it happen”.

The British heavyweights now hold all of the division’s belts between them, after Fury, 31, beat Deontay Wilder, 34, on Sunday to claim the WBC title.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said on Monday that “this fight will happen”.

“Of course we want to see the fight,” Warren told BBC Sport. “We’ve been trying to make it for two years.”

“Hearn kept saying was it’s got to be 70/30 [the purse] in favour of AJ and so on and so fourth.

“The tables have turned now. I have no problem with 50/50. I think Tyson would deserve more but 50/50, no problem.

“This is about the boxers and more importantly the fans. If they want to see the fight we will make it happen.

“In the meantime Eddie Hearn is acting like the guy standing outside your house with his nose pressed up against the window and keeps spouting off about Tyson.”

Eco-warriors Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could meet Greta Thunberg as they visit Britain in SAME week

Eco-warriors Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could meet Greta Thunberg as they visit Britain in SAME week

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry could meet Greta Thunberg – as they visit the UK the same week as the teen climate change campaigner.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously spoken out about their passion for the environment, with Harry even praising the 17-year-old Swede.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be in the UK at the same time as the teen climate change advocate

Greta Thunberg announced she would be arriving in the UK next week

And the couple could meet with Greta as they return home to the UK next week to complete their final royal duties before Megxit is finalised on March 31.

The Swedish activist today announced she was “heading for the UK”, planning on joining a school strike in Bristol.

Taking to Twitter, she urged Brits to join her as she led a protest on climate change.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is expected to be in the UK from at least February 28 – heading to an event with Jon Bon Jovi to raise awareness for the Invictus Games.

He and Meghan are expected to carry out six engagements over the 11 days while they are in Britain, leaving a few spare days for a possible meeting with Greta.

It wouldn’t be the first time that a Royal Family member has met with the dedicated teen, with Prince Charles meeting with her at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

But a possible meeting comes after it was revealed the Sussexes have made deals with big banks to give speeches to some of the richest in the world.

Prince Harry recently gave a speech for JP Morgan in Florida  and is now reportedly in talks with banking giant Goldman Sachs to become a guest speaker on its YouTube series.

And despite the couple’s keenness to encourage eco-friendly decisions – with Prince Harry even vowing only have two children to minimise his impact on the earth – they have been criticised for hypocritical decisions to travel on private jets.

Last year, the couple came under fire for taking four private jets in just 11 days last year.

Meanwhile Greta insisted at her own speech at the WEF that more needed to be done to tackle climate change.

She told the annual meeting: “We are not telling you to ‘offset your emissions’ by just paying someone else to plant trees in places like Africa while at the same time forests like the Amazon are being slaughtered at an infinitely higher rate.

“Planting trees is good, of course, but it’s nowhere near enough of what needs to be done, and it cannot replace real mitigation or rewilding nature.”

Ramsey’s first season in Serie A hasn’t gone to plan, with game-time in short supply and injuries hampering his influence. Rumours of a return to the Premier League emerged earlier this week, with United and former club Arsenal mentioned as possible destinations for the Welshman. Welsh Businesses Encouraged to Bid for Arena Work Worth £23M+

Welsh businesses are being urged to bid for work on the £135m Swansea Central Phase One scheme.

Principal contractor Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, working in collaboration with Swansea Council, wants to maximise the use of local and regional expertise.

There are 30 work packages available, with a total value of more than £23m. The value of the individual work packages starts from £10k.

They include: Mechanical and electrical second tier sub-contractors – £12m; external building, including brickwork, doors, frames and glazing – £2m; internal fit-out and finishes, including walls, flooring and plaster/ render – £9m.

A full breakdown of these and the individual smaller work packages will be available at a free-entry meet-the-buyer event for businesses and on the Business Wales website.

The event is being held by Buckingham Group and the council in collaboration with Welsh Government service Business Wales, CITB (the Construction Industry Training Board) and the Swansea Bay City Deal.

It is due to take place at the Construction Wales Innovation Centre (CWIC), University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) in Swansea’s SA1 district on March 11 from 9am-1pm.

The format will be one-to-one pre-arranged meetings; these can be booked in advance through Business Wales – www.bit.ly/MTBmarch11. The event is for contractors able to bid specifically for the packages advertised.

Swansea Central Phase One will bring a 3,500-capacity indoor arena, coastal park, landmark bridge, car parking, homes and commercial premises to a key city centre site.

It is being driven and funded by the council. The £1.3bn City Deal is part funding the arena; the Welsh Government’s Active Travel Fund is part funding the bridge.

Council leader Rob Stewart said:

“We promised to deliver opportunities for local firms through this transformation scheme and that’s just what we’re doing.

“Welsh businesses are already finding work on this world-class regeneration project. I urge other business to attend this meet-the-buyer event.

“Buckingham Group are expected to give every possible opportunity to Welsh firms. Similar opportunities for local and regional business will form part of all City Deal projects coming forward in the near future.”
Robert Francis-Davies, the council’s cabinet member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said:

“This landmark project will bring investment to Swansea and help regenerate the city for generations to come.

“A key part of the success is to ensure that local businesses and individuals have a great opportunity to benefit. Latest figures show that of the 284 people working on site, almost 80 per cent of them are based in Wales.”
Kevin Underwood, managing director for Sports and Leisure at Buckingham Group Contracting, said:

“We are already enjoying working closely with Welsh businesses on this incredibly exciting scheme.

“We’re confident of delivering high-quality work – and we’re looking to work with other suppliers and partners who can match our demands for the highest standards.

“More than 200 Welsh businesses attended a Swansea Central Phase One meet-the-buyer event at the Liberty Stadium last March; I expect similar interest this time.”
Buckingham Group have been on the expansive site – between the LC and Tesco Marina – since May last year. Main construction work began in November and the project is due to be complete in the second half of next year.

Howard Jacobson, growth adviser at Business Wales, said:

“This meet the buyer event is a prime opportunity for Welsh contractors to gain more insight into the appropriate packages before bidding for the transformational scheme.

“Business Wales are delighted to be able to support any businesses wishing to tender through our fully funded support and workshops.”

JP Morgan economists warn of ‘catastrophic’ climate change 🌍💼📰

JP Morgan economists warn of ‘catastrophic’ climate change – Human life “as we know it” could be threatened by climate change, economists at JP Morgan have warned.

In a hard-hitting report to clients, the economists said that without action being taken there could be “catastrophic outcomes”.

The bank said the research came from a team that was “wholly independent from the company as a whole”.

Climate campaigners have previously criticised JP Morgan for its investments in fossil fuels.

The firm’s stark report was sent to clients and seen by BBC News.

While JP Morgan economists have warned about unpredictability in climate change before, the language used in the new report was very forceful.

“We cannot rule out catastrophic outcomes where human life as we know it is threatened,” JP Morgan economists David Mackie and Jessica Murray said.

Carbon emissions in the coming decades “will continue to affect the climate for centuries to come in a way that is likely to be irreversible,” they said, adding that climate change action should be motivated “by the likelihood of extreme events”.

Climate change could affect economic growth, shares, health, and how long people live, they said.

It could put stresses on water, cause famine, and cause people to be displaced or migrate. Climate change could also cause political stress, conflict, and it could hit biodiversity and species survival, the report warned.

To mitigate climate change net carbon emissions need to be cut to zero by 2050. To do this, there needed to be a global tax on carbon, the report authors said.

But they said that “this is not going to happen anytime soon”.

Developed countries were worried that cutting emissions would affect competitiveness and jobs, while less developed countries “see carbon intensive activity as a way of raising living standards.”

“It is a global problem but no global solution is in sight,” the report added.

Young, Welsh and Pretty Minted: The 20-year-old online trader who makes up to £200,000 a year

On the same day that Ashley found out he’d failed his GCSEs, he also made his first £470 profit.
“That’s the day I first found out that I could make money without any GCSEs or qualifications,” he says.
“I’ve always thought that I would want to do business at university and I was thinking to myself, ‘What’s the point of learning how to do business when you can do it and learn on the job?’”
Ashley, 20, is an online trader from the Pembrokeshire town Tenby, in south-west Wales.
His career is risky, but one that can come with big rewards. He’s been trading for about four years now, and has pocketed up to £200,000 a year.
He spends his cash on cars and currently he owns four, including a BMW i8 that costs around £115,000.
“What motivated me when I started trading was cars. I’ve always been into them from when I was a kid and it’s always been my inspiration to make money.”
CONTRIBUTOR IMAGE
Ashley with his BMW i8
Ashley – who sometimes works just two hours a day – is one of the young people who are making lots of money in different ways, as seen in the latest season of BBC Three’s Young, Welsh and Pretty Minted.
In a recent study, it was reported that the number of teenagers with their own businesses has gone up by 700% in 10 years.
‘I didn’t get much inspiration until I got wi-fi’
Ashley grew up on a council estate in Pembrokeshire, a place where he didn’t see many role models.
“There’s not really many young entrepreneurs here,” he says.
“I didn’t get much inspiration really until I got wi-fi. If I didn’t have access to wi-fi or a computer when I was younger, I think life would have been a completely different ball game.

“I used to watch YouTubers and think, ‘God these people are so young.’
“People like my friend Gonth [a Welsh gaming YouTuber], he is a local guy and he is doing really well. He was definitely a motivator.”
Even though Ashley failed his GCSEs, he learnt how to trade by reading e-books and watching YouTube videos.
“When I first started trading, I found it really difficult because I didn’t actually have anyone to ask questions to, except Google and YouTube.
“It felt like going to school, but having no teachers to ask questions to, so it was quite complicated for me. From then on, I always want to help people who are in the same position as I was in because I know how hard it can be.”
‘I get my satisfaction from helping people’
With his success, Ashley has become an inspiration to kids in his community.
Ashley now lives in his own flat close to his old neighbourhood, but he tries to visit his old area as much as he can – he says he makes sure he never forgets where he came from.
“If I see kids who are younger than me who know me and they’re like ‘Can I have a look at your car Ash?’ I’ll let them sit in my car and try to motivate them, because it’s what I wish I had when I was growing up.”
Online trading doesn’t come without risk, and with unpredictable crashes traders can lose money as well. The type of trading Ashley does, foreign exchange, popularly known as forex, is particularly volatile.
According to one report from Bloomberg in 2014, on average, 68 percent of investors had a net loss from trading in each of the past four quarters. Top trading sites are filled with warnings about how most investors lose money.
Of course Ashley has also lost money while trading, but that doesn’t discourage him.
“You’ve got to have it in the back of your mind that you can possibly lose money. I’ve lost money before, but how I look at it is that I’ve just profited less than I would’ve.”
Investment scams, where fraudsters approach people promising them high returns from online trading, are well known for their luring tactics on social media, especially Instagram.
Ashley says fake scammer Instagram accounts have been made in his name and he’s had to contact Instagram repeatedly to get them removed.
“Investment scams can put a lot of people off from joining the trading sector, but it is important to not transfer or give anyone money. And when trading, manage your risks correctly and have a plan set.
“If it looks too good to be true then it probably is a scam.”
The self-taught trader emphasises the importance of independence when trading, and to “educate yourself more than anything.”
Ashley is self-employed, meaning he spends most of his time working in his in-house office.
“It is horrible when you’re working alone all the time. I’m sat in my office most of the day.
“The only kind of interaction which helps me a lot is being on Instagram. I am able to talk to people who come to me and ask questions. It’s nice to be able to pick up the phone and chat to someone who is in the same industry as me.”
‘I work so hard because I just want to make sure my family has a better life’

His profits allow Ashley to live on his own, as well as financially support his family.
“It’s every son’s or daughter’s dream to be able to really treat their parents. It is really nice.
“My mum has definitely done her bit so it’s only fair that I reward her. That’s one of the main reasons why I work so hard because I just want to make sure my family has an easier life.”
His self-made success story has had a positive impact on his younger siblings, especially his little brother who hopes to become a trader like his big brother Ashley.
“One of my younger brothers plays professional football for Swansea, my other younger brother is looking into business and wants to get involved in what I do, he’s been my sidekick. My little sister is looking to set up her own clothing company.
“I hope that this has come from me inspiring them.”
Young, Welsh and Pretty Minted is on BBC iPlayer.

Tyson Fury stops Deontay Wilder in magnificent performance in Las Vegas

Tyson Fury stops Deontay Wilder in magnificent performance in Las Vegas

Fury knocked out the most feared puncher in the division (Picture: Getty)Tyson Fury is the new WBC champion after a stunning performance against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.Wilder peeled himself off the canvas twice before Fury eventually stopped his rival in the seventh round.Fury had promised to go after his opponent after a draw in their first fight 14 months ago and the British heavyweight made good on his promise.

Almost no one except Fury’s team predicted he would be the aggressor, but the unified champion was all over the Bronze Bomber from the first bell.It was Wilder who landed first, with two hard shots in quick succession, but Fury responded and every shot the Gypsy King threw drew a massive roar from the partisan MGM Grand Arena crowd.

Fury dominated Wilder – The ferocious pace continued into the second round with Fury doing the best work, backing Wilder up onto the ropes with several blows in the final seconds. And then came an incredible third round as Fury floored Wilder for the first time in 15 rounds of action between the heavyweights.Wilder hit the deck after eating a sharp left hook, but was quickly back up. Fury had his arms in the air when Wilder went down a second time, but that was ruled a slip and gave the wounded champion some extra time to recover.

Wilder was repeatedly knocked down – Fury dominated the fourth round and turned to smirk at his corner when Wilder slipped again, and the crowd could feel a knockout was coming. There was blood pouring from the ear drum of Wilder and Fury finally put him down again in the fifth.

The Brit tried to finish Wilder off there and then, but the American was given time to breath when referee Kenny Bayless stepped in to deduct Fury a point for holding.[metro-zone-post-strip]Just as Fury thought he had control of the fight, Wilder reminded him of his power in the sixth but it was only a brief warning, as the defending champion’s equilibrium was clearly shot after receiving such heavy blows. After dominating every round, Fury was crowned the WBC champion in the seventh when Wilder’s corner threw in the towel.

Johnson poised to axe network of business councils | 🇬🇧💼📰

Boris Johnson is poised to axe network of business councils –

Dozens of business leaders could be forced to relinquish their roles as advisers to the prime minister as part of a shake-up of Boris Johnson’s engagements with industry bosses.

Sky News has learnt that Downing Street officials are keen to overhaul the network of five business councils set up in November 2018 by Mr Johnson’s predecessor, Theresa May.

Although Mr Johnson held one meeting last October with the council co-chairs – including the technology entrepreneur Brent Hoberman, Tesco chief executive Dave Lewis and Sir Ian Davis, the Rolls Royce Holdings chairman – City sources said on Thursday that there had been no attempt to reactivate the network since December’s general election.

Sky News has learnt that the New York-listed behemoth will launch a range of savings and loan products using the Chase brand in the UK in the next few months.

Deontay Wilder hit out at Anthony Joshua on the eve of his showdown with Tyson Fury in Las Vegas. The WBC champion’s highly anticipated rematch with Fury is being billed as the unofficial clash to become the No.1 heavyweight in the division.

Jet2’s hand luggage size & baggage allowance!

What’s Jet2’s hand luggage size and checked baggage allowance?

BRITISH airline Jet2 offers low-cost airfares from the UK, with cheap deals from regional airports across the country.

We’ve explained their hand luggage and checked baggage rules to avoid being caught out next time you fly.

Thankfully, passengers are allowed to take two pieces of hand luggage into the cabin with them.

Here is everything you need to know when flying with Jet2.

Jet2 hand luggage rules

All Jet2 passengers can take a suitcase into the cabin for free as long as it measures 56cm x 45cm x 25cm or less, and weighs less than 10kg.

You can also take a small personal bag on board alongside this, which is often a handbag or laptop bag.

This also includes a Duty-Free bag, so shoppers will need to make sure this fits into their bags.

Jet2 cabin baggage rules

To check a suitcase into the hold, you will need to pay a fee depending on how big the bag is.

All travellers are allowed up to three checked bags weighing 22kg each, although there are no restrictions on the size.

Prices range between £8 and £45 depending on the route, as well as when it is booked, such as while booking flights or at the airport.

Be careful not to go over the weight limit, as it will cost you another £12 per kg, with the maximum weight allowed up to 32kg altogether.

Additional items such as bikes, musical instruments or ski equipment cost £30 each way.

Tyson Fury confirms he sustained injury at start of training camp ahead of Deontay Wilder rematch 🇬🇧🥊📰

Tyson Fury V Deontay Wilder update…

Tyson Fury confirms he sustained injury at start of training camp ahead of Deontay Wilder rematch

The Gypsy King is adamant his leg problems will not affect him on Saturday night.

Tyson Fury has confirmed that he did suffer an injury at the start of his training camp ahead of facing Deontay Wilder but insists it will not impact him on fight night.

The Gypsy King takes on WBC heavyweight champion Wilder at the MGM Grand on Saturday night in Las Vegas, though the build-up has been plagued by rumours of issues in Fury’s training camp.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, claimed he had ‘heard a few things in the camp’ that had prompted him to change his prediction for the fight from Fury to Wilder.

Wilder and Fury clashed at their press conference on Wednesday evening (Picture: Reuters)

While the lineal champ has rubbished the speculation, calling Hearn a ‘w*nker’, he has confirmed that he picked up an injury at the start of his camp – which might have been the issue Hearn had alluded to.

Fury was spotted with what appeared to be a limp when he attended Conor McGregor’s UFC fight against Cowboy Cerrone on January 18, and while he did hurt his legs he is adamant it is not a major problem.

Asked about the rumours that he had picked up an injury during his camp, Fury told reporters: ‘Unfortunately I hurt both legs, and both ankles, in the training camp.

‘But it’s not going to affect me in the fight because that was at the beginning of camp. It was an unnecessary accident, but, you know, things happen.’

Average UK wages top pre-financial crisis levels | Economics

Average real wages – which take account of the impact of inflation – have risen above their pre-financial crisis level for the first time as workers begin to repair the damage to their finances after a 12-year squeeze on living standards.

In a significant moment after a lost decade for British workers, the Office for National Statistics said average weekly earnings, excluding bonuses, have reached a fresh peak in real terms. This means pay packets adjusted for inflation are worth more than they were before the 2008 crisis – although only just.

Fuel prices push UK inflation to six-month high – 🇬🇧💼📰

Fuel prices push UK inflation to six-month high!

UK inflation in January rose to a six-month high as petrol and house prices rose, official figures show.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) stood at 1.8% last month, up from 1.3% in December, the Office for National Statistics said .

“The rise in inflation is largely the result of higher prices at the pump and airfares falling by less than a year ago,” the ONS said.

The rise is ahead of economists’ CPI forecast of 1.6% in January.

CPI remains below the Bank of England’s 2% target for inflation. Wednesday’s inflation data pushed the value of the pound above $1.30. Versus the euro, the pound had started the day down 0.25% but rose back to trade flat against the single currency.

Why your new work colleague could be a robot – Tech News

Why your new work colleague could be a robot –

You hear EVA before you see it. A whirring and whizzing noise greets you as you enter the offices of Automata, a start-up robotics company based in London.

To one side a robotic arm is going through an intricate set of moves: six joints twisting and turning in a sequence which, in the real world, would place a label on a parcel.

That’s EVA, and it has being doing those moves non-stop for months to test its reliability.

Around the office and workshop there are more than a dozen other EVA units, some being dismantled by the engineers, others awaiting testing.

It must be very eerie at night as EVA continues its work, simulating attaching labels, while surrounded by its silent clones.
