The John Inverdale interview: My Welsh connections, accusations of English bias and the real story behind THAT famous picture – Wales Online

Here are a few things you might not know about John Inverdale.

As a boy, he lived in Newport, while his father worked at the Heath hospital in Cardiff.

The first Five Nations match he saw was Wales v France at the Arms Park in 1970 and he was back there in 1973, as a 15-year-old, to watch THAT game between the Barbarians and the All Blacks.

At Southampton University, he was at one point the only non-Welshman in his college rugby team and he went on to study journalism in Cardiff, at the same establishment as yours truly, as it happens.
