Owen Williams has signed for Japanese club NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes, making him ineligible to play for Wales.
The three-times capped utility back is heading for the Osaka-based outfit after a three-year stay with Gloucester.
He will be linking up once more with South African coach Johan Ackermann, who left the Cherry & Whites to take charge of the Red Hurricanes last month.
Both the Ospreys and the Dragons had been keen on bringing the 28-year-old former Scarlets playmaker back to Wales.
